About Us

Good things grow together.

Rooted in community

People first. Locally rooted.

Root & Harvest brings gardeners, farmers, homesteaders, producers, and local makers together with the neighbors who support them.

It’s a welcoming place to meet people, share what you know, learn something new, and discover what’s happening close to home. Whether you’re growing your first herbs or running a family farm, you have something to bring to the community.

Why we’re here

A little more local. A lot more connected.

There are people doing wonderful things all around us—growing food, caring for animals, keeping practical skills alive, and creating goods by hand. But finding one another isn’t always easy.

Root & Harvest gives those connections a place to begin. A question can lead to helpful advice. A shared photo can spark a friendship. A market update can introduce someone to a producer they’ll support for years.

We want to make it easier for good neighbors to find each other.

There’s a place for you here

You’re equally welcome if you simply enjoy fresh food, handmade goods, or learning about where things come from. You don’t need land, a business, or years of experience to belong. Curiosity and a willingness to connect are a great start.

We grow stronger together.

Real people. Real connections. A brighter tomorrow for our local communities.

Find your community

Share what you know

We all have something to learn—and something to offer.

Maybe you know how to start seeds, care for a flock, make soap, or set up a market booth. Maybe you’re just beginning and have plenty of questions.

Here, both experience and curiosity are valued. Share your successes, talk about the things that didn’t go as planned, and pass along the lessons that might help someone else.

A useful tip, an honest story, or a little encouragement can make someone’s next step easier.

Connections close to home

From your backyard to your community.

Use Root & Harvest to discover people with shared interests, join conversations, find events, and get to know local businesses.

Show others what you’re growing or making. Let them know which market you’ll be attending. Find a workshop, share extra seedlings, or ask a neighbor for advice.

The goal is to help people build relationships that become part of everyday local life.

Support the people behind the products

Meet the hands that make it happen.

Behind a jar of honey, a basket of vegetables, or a handmade gift is someone’s time, skill, and care.

We want to help growers and makers tell their stories and help neighbors discover their work. That support can be a purchase, a recommendation, a shared post, or an introduction to someone who needs what they offer.

Every connection is an opportunity to help a local person succeed.

What we’re building together

A community shaped by its members.

Our goal is to build a place that’s friendly, practical, and worth coming back to. Somewhere beginners feel comfortable asking questions, experienced members feel appreciated, and local businesses can build meaningful relationships.

Your participation helps shape that place. Share an idea, welcome a new member, offer feedback, or invite someone who would enjoy being here.

We’re starting with people and the things they care about. We’ll grow by listening to what helps them.
